The
number of private medical clinics being registered in Kathmandu and
Lalitpur has increased following the monitoring initiated by the Health
Ministry. On an average, 13 clinics are being registered in all the
three public health offices in Kathmandu valley. The number that used to
be three to four in a week has now reached almost 13 daily, said Chief
of Kathmandu Public Health Office Mahendra Shrestha. The monitoring team
from the Ministry has been shutting down clinics that were found
operating without official registration. On Sunday too, three clinics
were shut down in Kathmandu and Lalitpur.
So far, 40 clinics have been sealed in the past week since the
monitoring began.
