Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Sunday said that any act in the name of
friendship that would betray the country would be unacceptable to his
party.
During an orientation on the Constitution implementation, organised
by the UML’s sister wing in Province No 3, Chairman Oli said he would
take stance on national interest during a three-party meeting scheduled
for tomorrow.“I will effectively voice for democracy and progression,”
he said, adding that the Constitution could not be amended to appease
one person, side or groups. “It needs to speak all Nepalis’ voice.”
According to him, national interest, international relations and justice should be the basis for running the foreign policy.
“In order to effectively implement the Constitution, it was
essential to make act and laws, form commission, and wipe out
uncertainty on border demarcation,” he stressed, arguing that the demand
for more than seven provinces would disintegrate the country.
He flatly rejected the idea of increasing the number of the
provinces, saying the people could not feed governments, lawmakers and
chief ministers
